Coming off a thrilling rally on the road against a ranked opponent, the No. 16 Oklahoma Sooners (2-0) are riding high on confidence coming into Week 3. They will need to get refocused in a hurry, however, as they close out their non-conference schedule against the explosive offensive attack of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (2-0) in Norman.

Tulsa has been an offensive dynamo in the first two weeks of the season, averaging 609 yards of total offense in wins over the New Mexico Lobos and Florida Atlantic Owls. Now, they bring their high-powered attack up against their biggest test of the season to see if their impressive production is for real. The team has shown excellent balance thus far, with quarterback Dane Evans throwing for 745 yards and four touchdowns and running backs Zach Langer and D’Angelo Brewer each recording over 200 yards rushing with five combined touchdowns.

Oklahoma looked like it finally got the spread offense going late last week against the Tennessee Volunteers but will be hoping to get things started much quicker this week. Quarterback Baker Mayfield has been impressive in his first year as the starter, throwing for 575 yards with six touchdowns in the first two weeks. The Sooners running game has been lacking a bit, however, with lead backs Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon combining for just 176 yards rushing and one combined touchdown so far. Look for them to get things going this week against a Tulsa defense giving up 262 yards on the ground per game.

The Sooners have the talent to dominate this game but if they come in unfocused after their exciting win last week, Tulsa has an offense that could sting them. Will Oklahoma be on point this week or should the Sooners be on upset watch when the Golden Hurricane come blowing through?

Prediction: Oklahoma 42, Tulsa 27
