TV Schedule: Saturday, Sept. 26, 10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN

Stadium: Sun Devil Stadium

Line: USC (-5.5)

While there will be plenty of people sleeping, or out and about late on Saturday night, the USC Trojans and Arizona State Sun Devils will be battling it out in a must-win game — well, mainly for USC.

Here’s why: If the Trojans go down for a second straight week, they will already have two losses in Pac-12 play. With so much football left to be played, that would not only doom USC when it comes to making the College Football Playoff, but winning the Pac-12 South as well.

Meanwhile, the Sun Devils are undefeated in Pac-12 play … but they also haven’t played a fellow Pac-12 team yet. After dropping contest No. 1 to the Texas A&M Aggies, Arizona State has rebounded by winning its last two games. Adding more to to the momentum stew, the Sun Devils get this battle at home. But wait, there’s more! Arizona State beat USC last year (on the road).

This time around, stopping Cody Kessler will be a must, but will be no cakewalk since Kessler is one of the best quarterbacks in this sport. QB Mike Bercovici will do his very best to outduel Kessler, and will need to do just that if the Sun Devils are going to pull off the “upset.”

In the end, I see Kessler having a Heisman-like performance, which will result in USC pulling off the victory on the road. Who’s with me?

PREDICTION: Trojans 35, Sun Devils 28
