Oregon's Blowout Loss To Utah Proves Ducks Were Vastly Overrated Entering 2015

All of the hype the Oregon Ducks had entering the season has ended.

The loss of Marcus Mariota was clearly a huge one. After all, the Ducks still have talent all over the field, but they are just a different team without Mariota making the passes. At the same time, it’s not like Mariota could save the Ducks’ defense, a defense that just got done giving up 62 points to the Utah Utes … at home.

You can look at Oregon’s loss in one of two ways: (1) The Ducks were vastly overrated entering 2015. (2) Utah is really, really good.

Of course, the Ducks could still make the Pac-12 championship game, but that thought shouldn’t even enter people’s brains after the beating the Utes just put on Oregon. Pac-12 championship game or not, there is no way this team is making the College Football Playoff, which is what this program is all about (that and the fancy uniforms).

Utah, on the other hand, just made a good old-fashioned statement, and it still has a shot at the playoff, even if fans from me to you likely aren’t giving this team that much credit.

Oregon is now 2-2 on the season, if you can believe that.

The Ducks are down, and they likely aren’t getting back up — well, at least not this season.
