Stadium: BB and T Field, Winston-Salem, N.C.

Line: Florida State (-19.5)

The only reason this would be forecast as a victory for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons would be  if we were talking about basketball. We’re not. The guys from Winston-Salem have a problem. The Florida State Seminoles had a few minor issues in their game last week against the Boston College Eagles. Prior to that, Everett Golson had a few issues, as he only completed 53.8 percent of his passes but still came away with a 14-for-26 performance against the South Florida Bulls. He tossed a touchdown in that game and sits at 584 passing yards for the season with six touchdowns and no interceptions. Rest assured whatever corrections that need to be made have been; and now, a trip will be made to Winston-Salem with a Seminole team I expect to fire on all cylinders

Golson also has the luxury of turning around and handing the ball to this guy you may have heard of named Dalvin Cook. If Cook needs a break, the Seminoles can spell him with Mario Pender. Think about that. You can hammer the Deacons with either guy, but the backup in this scenario could start for the other side. Actually, most of the Seminole backups could start for the Demon Deacons. Honestly, there aren’t many options on the defensive side of the ball for Wake Forest that can do much about what the Seminoles want to do offensively and do it consistently for four quarters.

The Demon Deacons have started two quarterbacks this season. John Wolford began the year and has thrown for 712 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions. He was forced out of their game against Army and replaced by Kendall Hinton. Hinton went 19-of-46 for 245 yards in a 31-24 loss and completed 41 percent of his passes with one touchdown and one interception. Truthfully, it doesn’t matter who they put back there. The Seminoles will cut off one side of the field with Jalen Ramsey who shouldn’t be challenged much; but if he is, remember he’s one of the top five cornerbacks in the country. We won’t even discuss the defensive line, what’s probably the best linebacker grouping in the ACC and Ro’Derrick Hoskins.

This figures to be a blowout.

Prediction:  Florida State 30, Wake Forest 10
