TV Schedule: Saturday, October 1o, 7:30 p.m. ET, FOX

Stadium: Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Manhattan, Ks.

Line: Kansas State (+9)

Kansas State (3-1) will try to upset the No. 2 team in the nation in the TCU Horned Frogs (5-0) on Saturday evening. It will certainly be a monumental challenge for the Wildcats. K-State is coming off of a heartbreaking loss to Oklahoma State as they lost on a last-minute field goal. Meanwhile, TCU throttled Texas 50-7.

TCU QB Trevone Boykin continues to dazzle with his play this season as he has remarkable numbers — 1,802 passing yards and 19 touchdowns passing to go a long with 242 rushing yards and two scores. He certainly belongs in the Heisman Trophy discussion, and it will be tough for Kansas State to stop him and the rest of the TCU offense. If it wasn’t for Boykin’s attention, receiver Josh Doctson and his 722 yards with eight scores would be getting a lot more attention. You can see what Kansas State is up against.

However, you can never count out a Bill Snyder coached team. I don’t think one program or coach does more with less than the Wildcats. The man is a coaching legend. Quarterback Joe Hubener has managed the game nicely this season, but he and the rest of the offense are going to have to play flawless football to keep up with TCU’s high octane attack.

As we saw last year, the Big 12 and their teams have a small margin of error in the eyes of the College Football Playoff committee. So it is almost imperative that TCU goes undefeated this season. A trip to the Little Apple will certainly be a challenge. It’s always a tough place to play, especially under the lights. Look for the game to be closer than most experts think, especially for three quarters, but TCU’s tempo should wear down the Wildcats in the fourth. The Horned Frogs are just too athletic for them.

Prediction: TCU 41, Kansas State 27
