The Boise State Broncos have fared well under Bryan Harsin’s leadership, finishing last season 10-2 and winning the Mountain West championship game over Fresno State (28-14). Things aren’t much different this season. The Broncos have started the 2015 season 5-1 with their lone loss coming against BYU in Week 2 (24-35) and are 2-0 in the MWC.

Despite playing in the lowly Mountain West, the Broncos are currently ranked 21st in the AP Poll and are 7th in the FBS for yards allowed per game. It seems the Broncos are thriving on the magic of their blue field turf and behind Harsin.

The Broncos started the season ranked 23rd and then moved up to 20th after a Week 1 victory over Washington. Their loss to BYU dropped them out of the polls, but they clawed their way back in after three easy wins against Idaho State, Virginia and Hawaii.

This week’s game against Utah State should be no different with the Broncos only allowing 12 points per game. Both teams are 2-0 in conference play this season, but Utah State has lost to a ranked Utah team and an unranked Washington squad (the same Washington that Boise State beat in Week 1).

Boise State has yet to face a ranked team, but this will be the second ranked opponent this season for Utah State. The Aggies are 2-3 against ranked opponents under Matt Wells, so he’s eager to tie up that record. But the Broncos have too much going for them to allow that. The Aggies won’t stay undefeated in conference play for long.

Prediction: Boise State 38, Utah State 26
