TV Schedule: Saturday, October 17, 10:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Stadium: Rice-Eccles Stadium, Salt Lake City, UT

Line: Utah (-7.0)

The No. 4 Utah Utes (5-0, 2-0) made Heisman Candidate Jared Goff look silly last weekend. Utah’s ball hawking defense picked the No. 23 California Golden Bears quarterback off five times. Goff isn’t just a Heisman candidate, he is regarded as a first-round NFL draft pick. The Utes’ defense is second in the country with 17 takeaways.

Utah separated themselves from the rest of the Pac-12 with the win and has made a serious case for the College Football Playoff. Star running back Devontae Booker should have a difficult time moving the ball against the Arizona State Sun Devils (4-2, 2-1) 44th ranked run defense (138.8 ypg allowed). It will take a better performance from QB Travis Wilson who threw for just 170 yards with two picks last week.

The Sun Devils should have issues on Saturday as starting RB Demario Richard left last week’s win against Colorado with an injury. They turned the ball over nine times in their first four games, which is definitely alarming. But they have played better in their last two wins against No. 7 UCLA and Colorado. Still, they will have to be much better on Saturday.

Arizona State beat Utah at home last season and have won the last 11 meetings, but Utah is a much better team this season.

Prediction: Utah 34, Arizona State 14
