Florida DB Deiondre Porter Arrested After Shooting at Pregnant Girlfriend

Florida Gators freshman defensive back Deiondre Porter likely won’t be playing football any time soon and hopefully will get to spend some time inside a jail cell.

According to the Alachua County (FL) Police Department, Porter showed up at his pregnant girlfriend’s apartment on September 29 and accused her of cheating on him with one of his teammates. When she denied the accusations, Porter allegedly held a gun to her head and “continued to demand that the victim tell the truth,” the complaint said. Eventually, Porter would put the gun down and tell her they would try again in the morning.

After he slept in her bedroom, and she slept on the couch, Porter started the same argument at 7:15 a.m. the next morning. When his girlfriend once again denied the accusations, he shot in her direction, hitting the wall she was leaning against and then left.

Porter was arrested on three charges, including felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and felony shooting into or throwing deadly missiles into dwellings.
