TV Schedule: Saturday, Nov. 7, 1:00 p.m. ET, PAC12

Stadium: Folsom Field

Line: Stanford (-16)

The College Football Playoff rankings are in, and the Stanford Cardinal come in at No. 11. Although that ranking might scare fans into thinking that Stanford has no shot at making the playoff, here are three reasons why said fans should have faith: (1) Stanford still has to play the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who are ranked No. 5. (2) The Cardinal could still win the Pac-12 title, and that would be huge when it comes to the playoff, especially since the LSU Tigers, Florida Gators and Alabama Crimson Tide will not all win the SEC title. (3) Plenty of football still needs to be played.

Now, let’s not look ahead any further. The Cardinal will take on the Colorado Buffaloes this weekend. Colorado has won four games in 2015, but only one of those wins came against a Pac-12 team. The Buffaloes likely also won’t be able to contain both Kevin Hogan and Christian McCaffrey.

Colorado does get to play at home, and that is probably the only advantage it has.

Stanford is riding a seven-game winning streak and it hasn’t lost since Game 1 of 2015. The Cardinal might eventually slip up again, which would kill any shot they have at the playoff, but that slip is not going to happen this weekend. At the same time, even if Stanford does win in a landslide, this victory won’t really help it move up the rankings … unless teams in front of it lose in Week 10.

PREDICTION: Buffaloes 14, Cardinal 33
