The Baylor Bears did it.

They managed to knock off the Oklahoma State Cowboys, who were previously undefeated, on the road. In the process, Baylor got back into the College Football Playoff picture.

The Bears will take on the TCU Horned Frogs next, and will close out the regular season against the Texas Longhorns. Of course, so much can happen now until the end of the season, which actually benefits the Bears … if they continue to win.

Just this weekend, the Ohio State Buckeyes were handed their first loss (big props to the Michigan State Spartans for somehow pulling that off without Connor Cook).

Baylor has some serious ground to make up thanks to the CFP committee ranking it at No. 10 this week. The team should easily get a bump in the ranking as a result of this major road win, and finishing the season with just one loss very well could do the trick.

However, it’s very hard to not think about last season. A season in which the Bears (and Horned Frogs) were completely snubbed out of the playoff. This year isn’t looking too promising either — because the committee appears to be anti-Big 12.

The main thing the Bears have going against them is their one loss, which came against the Oklahoma Sooners. In no way is that a bad loss (not on this planet at least), but Oklahoma is winning mega-showdowns left and right. At the time of writing, the Sooners’ chances of knocking off TCU are looking very good.

Who knows who will make the playoff, but hopefully it all works itself out (right, playoff committee?), and hopefully Baylor isn’t snubbed again if it finishes with just one loss.
