Stadium: Spartan Stadium (MI)

If the Michigan State Spartans do one simple thing in Week 13, they will clinch their spot for the Big 10 championship game. And if they win said Big 10 championship game, they will likely be playing in the College Football Playoff. But first, they must do that one simple thing in Week 13, which is knock off the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Penn State has now lost back-to-back games and a third straight loss is looking very likely. After all, Michigan State just got done knocking off the Ohio State Buckeyes on the road. The best part? They did so without QB Connor Cook making the throws.

As usual, the Spartans will have to limit QB Christian Hackenberg. Last week, against the Michigan Wolverines, which is a team that Michigan State already beat, Hackenberg could only rack up 137 passing yards and one TD. That doesn’t necessarily scream NFL QB, but the Wolverines are rather stingy on the defensive side of the ball.

As we have seen in the Big 10 in 2015, literally anything is possible. Just look at the Michigan State vs. Michigan game. However, Hackenberg would likely have to have one of his best performances of the season for Penn State to pull off the major upset on the road.

Just remember, MSU won without its starting QB on the road last weekend, and it also shut down Ezekiel Elliott. Until Week 12, that seemed like an impossible task.

PREDICTION: Nittany Lions 21, Spartans 35
