TV Schedule: Saturday, Nov. 28, 7:30 p.m. ET, FOX

Stadium: Stanford Stadium

Line: Stanford (-3.5)

Whether you think the Notre Dame Fighting Irish belong in the College Football Playoff or not, they will get a chance to prove all of their doubters wrong in Week 13. That is because the Fighting Irish will take on the Stanford Cardinal, a team that could end up winning the Pac-12.

Although the Cardinal likely have no shot at the playoff now thanks to two losses, they could certainly ruin Notre Dame’s playoff dreams … and being the Pac-12 champs would be one heck of a consolation prize.

Even if Notre Dame does capture the victory in this game, here’s the one big problem: The Fighting Irish don’t have a conference championship. One must remember what happened to the Baylor Bears and TCU Horned Frogs last season. Both teams finished with one loss, yet both teams were snubbed out of the playoff. Surely, not being able to compete in a conference championship game was the ultimate dagger.

All of that aside, Notre Dame has to play this contest on the road. Notre Dame also has to go up against Christian McCaffrey, who could end up winning the Heisman when it is all said and done.

If Notre Dame stops McCaffrey, its chances of winning this battle go way up … but then it also has to worry about QB Kevin Hogan. Nonetheless, this should be a rather entertaining game, and one that will hopefully help shape the playoff picture.

PREDICTION: Fighting Irish 28, Cardinal 30
