Stadium: Carter-Finley Stadium, Raleigh, NC

Line: UNC (-6.5)

It’s been a while since North Carolina lost. The Tar Heels have been on a 10-game win streak since their loss in the season opener against South Carolina and have already clinched a trip to the ACC Championship game against still-undefeated Clemson.

Although NC State has won six of their last eight meetings between the two schools, North Carolina has shown again and again this season that they are a team on a mission. The Tar Heels are coming off an OT-thriller against Virginia Tech in which North Carolina showed little mercy for Frank Beamer’s last home game with the Hokies.

Marquise Williams has been averaging 66.6 rushing yards this season, good enough to lead the ACC in that stat among QBs. He is just the fifth quarterback in conference history with at least 2,000 career yards rushing.

Although Williams claims he doesn’t have a score to settle after a member of the Wolfpack called him soft before last year’s matchup, it’s unlikely Williams will be soft on them this year. Last year’s game ended in a 35-7 Wolfpack victory, so Williams and the rest of the Tar Heels want to redeem themselves.

Williams faces an NC State defense that has held opponents under 360 yards in nine of its 11 games. However, the two times the Wolfpack’s defense couldn’t hold back its opponent were against the only other ranked teams NC State has faced, Florida State and Clemson.

Their offense hasn’t been too shabby either. Senior QB Jacoby Brissett has eclipsed 200 yards passing in each of the Wolfpack’s past five games after only doing so twice in the team’s first five.

On the line for North Carolina is the chance to be the undisputed top dog in the state after already defeating its other two in-state rivals, Wake Forest and Duke.

Prediction: North Carolina 34, NC State 28
