TV Schedule: Tuesday, Dec. 29, 8:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Stadium: NRG Stadium

Line: LSU (-7.5)

Things went from amazing to very bad for the LSU Tigers down the stretch. They almost lost Les Miles, after all. Les Miles! That is because the Tigers went from being a top team in college football to a team that lost three games in a row. At one point, it looked like LSU would walk into the College Football Playoff and the Heisman Trophy would just be handed right over to Leonard Fournette.

Fast forward to, well, now, and the Tigers will take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Not exactly the playoff.

The Red Raiders bring a 7-5 record to the table while LSU is 8-3.

Here’s another thing Texas Tech brings with it: One of the best offenses in the sport. The Red Raiders are averaging 46.6 points per game (No. 2 in the nation). One might be wondering how a team with such a lethal offense could finish with so many losses. It’s pretty simple — Texas Tech is also giving up 42.6 points per game.

The Tigers are averaging 30.7 PPG and allowing 24 PPG.

When this game is all said and done, no matter who comes out on top, Fournette could look like the best player in college football once again. However, don’t forget that QB Patrick Mahomes is on Texas Tech, and he is certainly not the only offensive weapon on the team.

Playing in the SEC and Big 12, both teams have clearly played some tough competition in 2015. In terms of this matchup, hopefully we will see some fireworks.

Nonetheless, it’s bowling season!

PREDICTION: Tigers 33, Red Raiders 28
