TV Schedule: Saturday, Dec. 19, 4:30 p.m. ET, ESPN

Stadium: Cramton Bowl

Line: Appalachian State (-7.5)

The Appalachian State Mountaineers will take on the Ohio Bobcats in the Camellia Bowl. The Mountaineers enter bowl season with a solid 10-2 record while the Cougars bring a not-too-shabby 8-4 record with them. As you can probably see from the line above, Appalachian State enters as the favorite.

Ohio enters this contest riding a three-game winning streak. As for the Mountaineers, well, they have also won three games in a row. Needless to say, both squads enter this bowl with some heat.

The Bobcats are averaging 27.4 points per game and giving up 24.8 PPG in the process. Meanwhile, the Mountaineers are doing 37.2 PPG and are only allowing 18.3 PPG (good for No. 13 in college football). They are also averaging 268.8 rushing yards, which is rather lethal (sixth-best in the sport lethal, to be exact).

Neither team had the most insane schedule this sport has ever seen, but it is important to note that Appalachian State did take on the Clemson Tigers. Unfortunately, it lost that game by the score of 41-10. A rather notable game on Ohio’s schedule was against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, which the Bobcats lost.

This is Appalachian State’s shot to show it really belongs — well, it basically showed that all season by compiling a 10-2 record. No matter the case, teams are remembered for what they do in the playoffs. In this case, bowl season.

The Mountaineers have come a long way since the monster upset against the Michigan Wolverines, and we are about to see that progress once bowl season gets underway.

PREDICTION: Bobcats 17, Mountaineers 27
