TV Schedule: Wednesday, Dec. 23, 8:00 p.m. ET, ESPN

Stadium: Ladd-Peebles Stadium

Line: Bowling Green (-7)

The Georgia Southern Eagles and Bowling Green Falcons will meet up in the GoDaddy Bowl. Entering bowl season, the Eagles hold an 8-4 record while the Falcons stand at 10-3. On top of having the worse record — although records and rankings go out the window during this time of year — Georgia Southern also is riding a one-game losing streak. Bowling Green, on the other hand, is riding that momentum train into this clash (on a two-game winning streak).

Although bowl games can sometimes come down to who wants to be there more (that is why there are so many upsets, or that is at least one theory), this clash should be pretty entertaining.

Let’s let the numbers tell the story: Georgia Southern is averaging 37.8 points per game and it is also averaging 355.6 rushing yards per contest (No. 1 in college football). Bowling Green is averaging 43.4 PPG and 376.1 passing yards (No. 3 in the sport). Needless to say, both teams can do some damage on the offensive side of the ball.

Here’s the biggest difference: Falcons QB Matt Johnson. Johnson racked up 4,700 passing yards and 43 TD passes in 2015.

That said, the Eagles’ rushing game will certainly make things interesting.

In these types of games, it really comes down to who wants it more. After all, both teams bring plenty of talent and scoring power to the table. Not to mention, these squads were matched up together for a reason — entertainment purposes. Give us Johnson & Co. in shootout fashion, though.

PREDICTION: Georgia Southern 35, Bowling Green 42
