The Mountaineers won the Camellia Bowl 31-29 over Ohio on a walk off field goal. It was Appalachian State's first bowl appearance and win in their super young FBS life. It could springboard them among the best in the Sun Belt and the best up and coming programs at the lower levels.

Georgia Southern is also brand new to FBS and won the GoDaddy Bowl in their first ever bowl game. The nation fell in love with their unique triple-option attack that differs from the others. They rode it to a 58-27 romp of MAC champions Bowling Green. They also look to be a potential Sun Belt power and a participant of many more bowl games.

Utah took down their bitter rivals 35-28 in a rare bowl meeting between the two at the Las Vegas Bowl. Dispatching their rival makes it an extra special feeling to win a bowl game. The win also gave them a 10 win season, which is a good start for them as they continue to try to build a Pac-12 legacy.

The Cougars won the Sun Bowl (in the snow) over Miami 20-14. The win capped off a remarkable 9-4 season for them. Taking down a program with athletes like Miami speaks wonders for the future of the program. With QB Luke Falk back next season and several other key offensive players, next year could be even better.

The Hokies won a rare offensive shootout game over Tulsa in the Independence Bowl. The 55-52 thriller, in what was legendary coach Frank Beamer's last game, will go down as one of the more emotional moments of bowl season. The win could also help build the new era of Hokie football when Justin Fuente takes over next season.
