Derrick Henry Looks Huge Next To Mark Ingram

By Brad Berreman

Alabama running back Derrick Henry was one of the stars of Monday night’s national title game victory, with 36 carries for 158 yards and three touchdowns to wrap up his Heisman Trophy-winning season. Former Alabama running back Mark Ingram, who is a former Heisman Trophy winner himself, was in Glendale as an honorary captain for the game.

This photo of the two running backs together surfaced before the game:

Ingram is of course an active NFL running back with the New Orleans Saints, and he’s listed at 5-foot-9, 215 pounds, while Henry (listed at 6-foot-3, 242 pounds) is a good bit bigger. But the angle of the photo distorts things a fair amount too, as well as Henry being in uniform with cleats on to add to his height.

If nothing else, the size and skill Henry has (distorted-angle photo aside) makes him a legit NFL prospect. He may declare a year early this year, and Henry will be one of the first running backs drafted either this spring or in 2017.
