Report: Patriots RB Kevin Faulk has torn ACL
[picappgallerysingle id="9814433"]
After trading Laurence Maroney to the Denver Broncos, the New England Patriots will be without another running back this season after the Boston Globe reported Kevin Faulk has a torn ACL. He left in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the New York Jets following an eight-yard run.
The 12-year veteran has spent his entire career in New England as an effective backup running back. Faulk has always been reliable as a running back, wide receiver, and on special teams—which will make him hard to replace this season.
Despite the injury, the Patriots have not placed Faulk on injured reserve as it is still unknown whether or not he will miss the entire 2010 season. In two games this season, Faulk has just 45 rushing yards on eight carries.
