After Being Cut, New York Giants Player Rep Shaun O’Hara Says He Should Have Voted ‘No’ to CBA
The New York Giants shocked everyone when they released Shaun O’Hara, which became official today at 4 pm ET. A return to the team doesn’t seem likely after the Giants signed free agent C David Baas; many speculated he could return at a lower salary after being released.
O’Hara claims “If I had known I was going to be a casualty of this [lockout] I would’ve voted ‘No’,” O’Hara told Ralph Vacchiano from the NY Daily News.
He also said he had no clue his release was coming.
“I certainly didn’t see it coming,” O’Hara said. “Richie [Seubert] and I actually joked about it, how we were like deer or bears in the woods that were just kind of walking along and didn’t really know what was about to happen to us. I kind of had a little bit of a tip when Richie called me and told me what happened to him. I certainly wasn’t expecting it.”
I imagine many veterans are feeling this way. Don’t be surprised to see more players either cut or have their pay reduced over the next few days. The Giants signed Mathias Kiwanuka, but are still trying to resign Steve Smith, Ahmad Bradshaw, and Kevin Boss.

Jerry Angelo and the Bears need to move….with San Fran throwing big $$$ at Olin….O’Hara would be a perfect way to equalize or even capatilize on the Giants loss and SF’s over the top $$$ to Olin. Even if Olin decides to stay….injuries and competition in camp for the starting position wuld make this a lock buster deal for Chicago…O’Hara to LG???
it would be a nice signing for the Bears for sure, but O’Hara never played guard in the NFL, so I don’t know about that
