BREAKING NEWS: New York Giants Resign Mathias Kiwankua

Thanks to a tweet by his teammate Justin Tuck, we were able to find out the great news that the Giants have resigned defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka.

Of course this is in no way official, but I have to believe the defensive captain wouldn’t have said that unless it were true.

@JustinTuckNYG91: Kiwi is returning to the big blue. Yes sir” <> awesome news!

The Giants are still trying to negotiate with Osi Umenyiora and give him a new deal, but if they cannot come to an agreement then you can expect Kiwanuka to spend most of his time at defensive end this year.

I expect the Giants to get both he and Osi back on the team, and Kiwanuka to start at linebacker this year.

Having Kiwi back is great news! Don’t need Osi now. Let the big crybaby sit out the season. Can’t stand a man who doesn’t stand by his word.

I agree…he should have just played under this deal…he doesn’t deserve a top 5 contract after producing one good year in the past three

I disagree. If you was promised a promotion and didn’t get it, i bet you would be mad too. Manny teams would love to snatch him up. Osi complaints are about his passion. He doesn’t get in trouble with the law. A great teammate and a great player.

If I was promised a promotion that was based on my performance and my performance was not satisfactory, I would understand why I wasn’t given the promotion

Jeff, you are absolutely right! The 2 seasons after Reese supposedly made the promise were spent on injured reserve (not Osi’s fault) and partially on the bench for lousy play (Osi’s fault). Therefore, Osi is the guy who renegged on the deal and is the liar, not Reese.
