You would be hard pressed to find a better story than that of Chad Jones, third round pick of the New York Giants in 2010. Amazingly, the former LSU standout will be at the Giants off season program this year.

According to Ralph Vacchiano of the NY Daily News, Jones is going to join his teammates when the Giants report back for off season training on April 16.

Whether or not he sees the field is still up in the air—Jones has not yet passed a physical from Giants team doctors. He has been rehabbing like a maniac in Louisiana since his car accident in 2010, and he’ll begin rehabbing with the Giants in April.

Two months after Jones signed a four year, $2.615 million contract in 2010 his life took an unexpected turn. A car crash left his ability to ever walk again in doubt, and obviously his ability to return to football. The accident shattered the fibula, tibia and ankle in his left leg and punctured his femoral artery.

Even after he overcame all of that and began to walk again, he questioned whether or not he wanted to play football ever again. Football the more violent option than baseball, which he also excelled at while in college.

He made a commitment to football, saying last year he intended on playing football in 2012. Although that still remains to be seen, the fact that it is even a possibility in miraculous.
