2012 NFL Free Agency: 5 Veteran New York Giants That Will Be Released
Osi Umenyiora had a very productive season in 2011 when he was on the field. His trade value is likely the highest it has been since the 2007 season. After missing all of the 2008 season his value took a hit, but in 2011 he was a monster.
He had 12.5 sacks in 13 games played last season, so the Giants should be able to get great value out of him. Then again, they could be willing to just let him play in the final year of his deal with the thinking he will be auditioning for a big contract when he hits free agency in 2013.
That said, the Giants will probably be more inclined to get value from him, which could be a couple of picks in this year's draft. If that is the case, don't be surprised to see Osi traded on draft day, maybe even before that.

I agree but the one guy they might be able to keep and redo a deal with is diehl. Everyone else should be gone to clear up some cap room. They will need to lock up V Cruz they can get him cheaper this year then next when he hits the FA market.
