New England Patriots’ Tom Brady Tears Up Reminiscing About NFL Draft
Before New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was a three-time Super Bowl champion or a two-time Super Bowl MVP.
Before he was a two-time NFL MVP, six-time Pro Bowler, and two-time first team All-Pro.
Before he was married to a Brazilian supermodel and one of the iconic players of his generation… he was simply a draft prospect.
11 years ago, Tom Brady was just a quarterback from the University of Michigan hoping to hear his name get called during draft day. He waited an excruciating amount of time waiting to get drafted.
Brady spoke to ESPN recently and discussed what it was like to wait, and wait, and wait for his name to be called.
Terrell Owens would be proud to see a quarterback choking up like that.
It’s hard not to respect how Brady has used that fuel of proving himself over the past decade to show everyone how wrong they were about him. But at the same time, knowing where he is now, seeing him tearing up with his ridiculous haircut is too funny not to laugh at now.
Brady’s Patriots are 0-3 in the last three playoff games, including a curb-stomping at home by the Jets this season (live-blogged here on the site) but Brady’s legacy will always be that of a clutch quarterback who went from underdog to top dog in the blink of an eye.
Oh, and I can’t write a Brady piece without a video like this, as well. Lest we forget.
