Prior to their Week 14 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, the New York Jets announced that running back/kick return specialist Joe McKnight will be inactive with an elbow injury.

McKnight, who leads the NFL with a 32.4 yard average on kick returns, had been listed as questionable with a hyperextended elbow suffered last week in a win against the Washington Redskins.

He and defensive lineman Mike DeVito, who is out with a knee injury, are the biggest names on the Jets’ Week 14 inactive list.

Other than those two, who are big contributors to the Jets when healthy, third-string quarterback Kevin O’Connell is inactive as usual, as well as seldom-used wide receiver Eron Riley.

Rookie defensive lineman Kenrick Ellis is inactive, with Martin Tevaseu taking his spot on the gameday active roster today. Cornerback Ellis Lankster and tackle Austin Howard are the other inactives.

Brandon Moore, the Jets’ starting right guard, is active and will start. Moore had missed all of practice this week as he deals with a hip injury.
