This week, ProFootballFocus.com published their eight All-Division teams in the NFL for the 2011 season, and four New York Jets players made PFF’s All-AFC East team.

Jets nose tackle Sione Pouha (above) was one of PFF’s All-AFC East defensive tackles, after a Pro Bowl-caliber season in the middle of the Jets defensive line.

Darrelle Revis, the Jets’ All-Pro cornerback and PFF favorite, also made the team, surprising no one. Vontae Davis of the Dolphins was the other corner, beating out Antonio Cromartie.

The other obvious pick for the Jets was center Nick Mangold, who ended up as PFF’s second-ranked center overall on the season even as he played through a high ankle sprain.

The last Jet to make it was kick returner Joe McKnight. The second year running back was one of the best kick returners in the NFL this year, a dramatic improvement from a shaky rookie year in 2010.

26 total players made up their team, with ten New England Patriots players, seven Miami Dolphins, five Buffalo Bills and four Jets.

in 2010, the Jets had nine players make the PFF All-AFC East team, and the impact of the Jets’ disappointing 2011 season was definitely reflected in this year’s roster.

The Jets now need to regroup this offseason and get back to playing winning football. The acknowledgements will come with better play from individuals and from the team as a whole.

I believe the Jets will learn from this, and they’ll bounce back in 2012. It hurts to not have them playing on Championship weekend for the first time under Rex Ryan, but I trust that they’ll be back there soon enough.
