A Few Reasons Why Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning is NOT a Good Fit for the New York Jets
If Peyton Manning does become a free agent, he's not going to sign for cheap. There's a reason he was one of the highest paid players in the league. He's an excellent football player.
As an unrestricted free agent, he'll have multiple teams bidding on him, and that's going to drive up his potential salary even more.
With the salary cap in place, teams can't just throw crazy money at free agents without jeopardizing the rest of their 53-man active roster.
For the New York Jets, signing Manning would likely mean little to no cap room for other moves, and quite frankly that just won't do.
The Jets have plenty of holes to fill, and they can't afford to blow all of their cap space on one player, even if that player is an elite quarterback like Peyton Manning.
