No Amare Stoudemare. No Jeremy Lin. No problem. The New York Knicks are surging right now after the resignation of their head coach Mike D’Antoni, going 8-2 in their last 10 games.

The fans really have to wonder if Mike D’Antoni was the real problem. Many had thoughts that it was Carmelo and Amare not working together, and now with Jeremy Lin suddenly coming out of nowhere, the team didn’t have the chemistry yet. Suddenly though, with Mike Woodson taking  up as interim head coach, the Knicks have had real life in them. The first game post D’Antoni, they won by a whopping 42 points. Since then, they’ve scored 100 or more points in 6 out of 10 games.

The Knicks now, seem to be playing for a coach they all like. It’s obvious that Woodson has done some good things, and if the Knicks keep playing like this, they’re going to be a hard out in the playoffs. The only problem is injuries are catching up to them. Lin has sat out for three games, and Amare Stoudemare is likely to be out of the season with a bulging disk in his back. The team is now Carmelo Anthony’s, and he will have to carry the load until he gets his teammates back.
