Will New York Mets Be Able to Add Young Talent At Trade Deadline?
With the trade deadline coming up, the New York Mets have a great opportunity to add some top-of-the-line talent to a farm system that could use an infusion of elite or near elite level talent – even if it is just one prospect. Until then, we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed that the healthy New York Mets prospects can remain that way and continue to produce and that the injured/injury prone New York Mets prospects find a way to get back into the lineup and avoid that ever present injury bug. Here is this week’s prospect update for the New York Mets.
Last Week – .273/.313/.372, 6 HR, 19 BB/47 K
This Week – .271/.310/.370, 6 HR, 19 BB/48 K
Wilmer Flores is keeping his ahead above water, but it is good that the New York Mets are slowing down his ascent up the organizational ladder.
Last Week – .227/.283/.329, 5 HR, 12 BB/75 K, 12 SB
This Week – .238/.295/.354, 7 HR, 13 BB/80 K, 13 SB
Nice week for Cesar Puello. He posted a .314/.359/.543 line over his past ten games.
Last Week – 88.2 IP, 3.35 ERA, 106 K/28 BB
This Week – 98.2 IP, 3.47 ERA, 120 K/32 BB
Matt Harvey was welcomed rudely to Double-A, but he has bounced back with two decent starts (10 IP 14 K/4 BB).
Last Week – .253/.339/.411
This Week – .260/.345/.413, 9 XBH, 13 BB/32 K
Reese Havens’ latest injury must have been minor because he has returned to the lineup.
Last Week – .237/.290/.351, 0 HR, 7 BB/18 K
This Week – .282/.353/.444, 1 HR, 13 BB/18 K
Just when Lucas Duda was heating up, he gets forced to the bench by David Wright. He did hit his first home run of the season in a pinch-hit at-bat though.
Last Week – .254/.330/.407, 7 HR, 15 BB/47 K
This Week – Injured
Another trip to the disabled list for another injury prone Mets prospect.
Last Week – .223/.278/.372, 11 HR, 25 BB/75 K
This Week – .220/.276/.369, 12 HR, 27 BB/80 K
Aderlin Rodriguez’ strike zone command isn’t terrible for a 19 year old.
Last Week – 72 IP, 4.88 ERA, 56 K/50 BB
This Week – 74 IP, 5.11 ERA, 58 K/50 BB
Brad Holt has not walked a batter since July 5th. That is only seven innings, but I’ll take it.
Last Week – 20 IP, 9.45 ERA, 15 K/12 BB
This Week – 25 IP, 8.28 ERA, 21 K/13 BB
Lots of patience.
Last Week – 82.2 IP, 4.35 ERA, 62 K/34 BB
This Week – 86 IP, 4.60 ERA, 63 K/38 BB
Robert Carson never really gives me much to talk about. He did get rocked in his last start, but that’s what happens when you allow four walks in 3.1 innings.
Injured
Jeurys Familia is still on the disabled list which is a shame. He was developing as one of my favorite Mets prospects.
