New York Mets and San Francisco Giants Reach Tentative Agreement for Carlos Beltran
Could the Carlos Beltran rumors be coming to a close? Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi report that the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants have reached a tentative agreement for the All-Star outfielder. According to the reports, the New York Mets will send Carlos Beltran to the San Francisco Giants for RHP Zack Wheeler. I talked briefly about Zack Wheeler over the weekend when I took a look at some San Francisco Giants prospects that the New York Mets may have some interest in. Zack Wheeler actually happened to the be the guy that I was most interested in from the San Francisco Giants and I am currently keeping my fingers crossed that this deal goes through. The only thing that we are waiting on now is approval from the league and the players to pass their physicals. Carlos Beltran’s no-trade clause is not expected to nix the deal. The two things that Carlos Beltran has desired are to stay in the National League and to have a shot at a World Series ring. Those two desires are fulfilled if this move becomes official. More analysis will come once the move is made official. Stay tuned.
