If you happened to tune into the waning minutes of Friday’s tilt between the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers, you saw quite a scuffle going on between the two teams near the final buzzer.
With Michael Del Zotto and Panthers forward Tomas Kopecky battling for position in front of Henrik Lundqvist, Del Zotto delivered a cross check up high on Kopecky. Kopecky promptly responded with a sucker punch to Del Zotto, which woke up Mike Rupp.
Rupp showed why he is in the lineup, absolutely thrashing Kopecky after he hit Del Zotto. There’s also quite a bit going on elsewhere in the video, including Derek Stepan and Kris Versteeg rolling around on the ice, but the love triangle between DZ, Rupp, and Kopecky is the main focus here.
