The Detroit Lions are stockpiling weapons for Matthew Stafford this season and it appears that tightends are going to be playing a big role for the Lions offense in 2010. John Niyo of the Detroit News had a piece this morning which points out that Brandon Pettigrew and newly acquired TE Tony Schefler figure to play a much bigger role next season.
OL Manny Ramirez is running out of chances and newly acquired Rob Sims isn’t making things easier for the young lineman. Rameriez will most likely be relegated to second string but his quality of play has to increase in order to remain on the Lions overall roster.
The Lions defensive line appears to be coming together and as of now, Cliff Avril is practicing with the first team and is penciled in opposite Kyle Vanden Bosch but he needs to work on his defense against the running game.
Detroit native and former Michigan receiver Braylon Edwards can’t wait to come home to play. The New York Jets will be visiting Ford Field on November 7th. A week later, the Jets visit the Cleveland Browns, Edwards former team.
