Rams Sign Veteran Wideout Mark Clayton
The St. Louis Rams got WR Mark Clayton Monday afternoon in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens. The Rams gave up an undisclosed draft pick in exchange for the 5 year vet.
The move immediately upgrades the Rams at the wide receiver position, giving them a proven NFL playmaker, something the team has lacked in recent years. In Clayton’s 5 NFL seasons (all with the Ravens) he played in 76 games and grabbed 234 balls for 3,116 yards and scored 12 touchdowns. His best year was in 2006 as he had career highs in receptions (67), yards (939), and touchdowns (5). This move is especially important for the Rams as they lost WR Donnie Avery to a season ending knee injury in the preseason.
