Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson is one of three nominees for FedEx Ground Player of the Week for his performance against the New York Giants on Sunday. The other nominees include Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings and Rashard Mendenhall of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
For the 13th time in 14 games, Johnson crossed broke 100 rushing yards and helped the Titans improve to 2-1 in their 29-10 win over the New York Giants. He finished the day with 125 yards on 32 carries and found the end zone twice—a one-yard run in the second quarter and an eight-yard run in the fourth.
On the season, Johnson is averaging 4.0 yards per carry and has 301 rushing yards on the season to go along with five touchdowns. Johnson continues to prove he’s one of the most dangerous running backs in the league after becoming the sixth player in NFL history to rush for over 2,000 yards last season.
