It was announced a little bit ago that Tennessee Titans quarterback Kerry Collins will start today against the Philadelphia Eagles while Vince Young rests a sprained knee suffered last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The only question now—does Collins have what it takes to lead the Titans on offense?

Collins helped the Titans establish an early lead against the Jags after replacing Young in the first quarter, completing 11 of 16 passes for 110 yards with one touchdown. Still, Collins was allowed to be conservative with his passing considering Tennessee mostly relied on Chris Johnson and Javon Ringer to run the ball most of the game.

Against Philadelphia, Tennessee will most likely be forced to pass the ball more. Despite their run defense being ranked 22nd, the Eagles managed to build an early lead last weekend to prevent the Atlanta Falcons from using their strongest weapon on offense—Michael Turner more in the ground game. Considering Chris Johnson is one of the best backs in the league, don’t be surprised if they try and do the same against the Titans this week.
