Grading the Philadelphia Eagles This Season, Player by Player: Part 6, Linebackers
Middle Linebacker, Stewart Bradley: Stewart Bradley has been an enormous disappointment for the Eagles in 2010. The Eagles’ defense dropped from sixth in 2008 to 19th in 2009, and most experts figured that the loss of Bradley for the season was the biggest reason. But Bradley hasn’t done anything productive for the Eagles this season. He is ranked 43rd out of 47 qualifying inside linebackers and has just 20 tackles. He is the worst cover linebacker, allowing a 152.1 passer rating this season. And he has just one sack and no turnovers this season.
Outside Linebacker, Ernie Sims: Sims has been a little bit of a disappointment for the Eagles. He rates slightly below average in all categories and has just 19 tackles in 427 plays. He is coming off a huge game against the Titans, where he picked up four tackles and two quarterback pressures.
Outside Linebacker, Omar Gaither: Gaither started the Detroit game in place of injured middle linebacker Stewart Bradley and recorded 13 tackles, including two for a loss. He picked up four tackles in the season opener against Green Bay, but hasn’t played on defense in the last five games.
Outside Linebacker, Moise Fokou: According to Pro Football Focus, Moise Fokou is the Eagles’ best linebacker this season. He has been excellent against the run and solid against the pass. He has been on the field for 113 plays and has 10 tackles.
Outside Linebacker, Akeem Jordan: Jordan played in the first four games of the season, recording six tackles against the Jaguars and three against the Lions. He has 10 tackles in 148 plays this season.
Outside Linebacker, Jamar Chaney: Chaney has played in 10 plays this season. He has made two tackles and has missed one.
