Falcons’ Michael Turner passes Titans’ Chris Johnson for most rushing touchdowns since 2008
With his two touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first half, Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner now has the most rushing touchdowns since 2008 with 32. Turner entered Sunday’s game just one touchdown behind Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson.
Turner left the San Diego Chargers to pursue the chance at being a No. 1 running back and has been phenomenal since singing with the Falcons in 2008, rushing for a combined 2,570 yards and 27 touchdowns over his first two seasons with them. In his first seven games this season, Johnson rushed for 587 yards with three touchdowns—including three games with 100+ rushing yards.
At halftime, the Falcons lead the Buccaneers 17-14 in a crucial matchup between these two division rivals. The winner of today’s game maintains sole possession of the NFC South.
