The Carolina Panthers already lost starting quarterback Matt Moore for the season. This weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they will be without their top three running backs—which means Mike Goodson will get the start on Sunday.

DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Williams, and Tyrell Sutton have all been ruled out for Sunday’s game due to injuries—which is bad news for the Panthers considering they’ve already had enough problems with the ground game this season. Carolina currently ranks 26th by averaging just 90.8 yards per game and neither Williams or Stewart—who combined for 4,601 rushing yards from 2008-09—have yet to break 100+ rushing yards in a game this season.

Now, the Panthers turn to Goodson—a second-year running back with just 99 career rushing yards. Sunday will be Goodson’s first career start and he couldn’t ask for a better matchup considering the Buccaneers’ rushing defense is allowing 147 yards per game.
