Chiefs Re-Sign Jamaal Charles To 5-Year Contract Extension
[picappgallerysingle id="10298530"]As reported by Adam Schefter on ESPN.com (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5909051), the Chiefs have signed running back Jamaal Charles to a five-year contract extension.
Charles, the league leader in yards per carry at 6.2 ypc, has been the best running back in the NFL since becoming the Chiefs primary back in week ten last season. The deal will net him a guaranteed $13 million and possibly $32.5 million over the life of the contract.
This is a great move to re-sign Charles now rather than allowing him to hit the open market as a free agent, and virtually locks down the Chiefs most exciting player through the prime of his career.
