The Giants took a huge blow to the gut when they found out they will be without backup linebacker and special teams contributor Clint Sintim for the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
This is a big loss on special teams as Sintim has started the entire season on special teams and has also started some games and played very well when Kieth Bulluck sat out with a toe injury.
The Giants cannot afford to lose any players on defense, their depth is their biggest strength and they use that to their advantage by rotating players in and out on different packages.
Sintim doesn’t exactly fall in to this category, unfortunately it means the Giants are going to have to play a starter or an inexperienced rookie in Sintim’s spot on kick and punt coverages, which doesn’t excite me either way.
A second round pick out of Virginia in 2009, Sintim has never really flourished with the Giants nor has he gotten the opportunity to. He has been molded and is expected to be a starter some time in the future, so hopefully he can recover from this injury.
Just a side note,
