Rookie David Nelson emerging as quite the surprise for Bills
Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver David Nelson failed to score a touchdown over his first 11 games of the regular season. Now, the former Florida standout is becoming quite the favorite target for Ryan Fitzpatrick in the end zone.
For the third-straight game, Nelson managed to catch a touchdown reception during his team’s 17-14 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Nelson caught an 18-yard pass from Fitzpatrick in the second quarter to help the Bills jump out to an early 7-0 lead. On the game, he caught three passes for 61 yards.
With Lee Evans—who was recently placed on IR—out for the rest of the season, Nelson should see some more balls thrown his way from Fitzpatrick. His numbers may not be anything to brag about (31 catches for 353 yards), but the experience Nelson has received over the last few games should benefit him heading into next season.
