Was Titans TE Bo Scaife benched because of his comments about the Fisher-Young saga?
After starting 12 of 13 games for the Tennessee Titans this season, tight end Bo Scaife was inactive for last weekend’s game against the Houston Texans—making him wonder if the decision had anything to do with his recent comments regarding head coach Jeff Fisher and quarterback Vince Young.
It’s no secret there’s a good chance either Fisher or Young will be gone after this season. Both sides have been frustrated with one another throughout the season and from what Titans owner Bud Adams has already said to the media—it appears Young will most likely still be with the team next season.
Whether you believe Fisher or Young should be the one who sticks around, everybody seems to have their own opinion about the matter—including the players. In a recent article from CBSSports.com, Scaife discussed how he believes his comments about the situation may have been the reason why he was benched against the Texans. In the week leading up to the game, Scaife told a reporter how he believed support in the locker room was divided between Fisher and Young.
While the article claims Fisher’s reasoning behind Scaife’s benching was because the team needed players at other positions, the timing of the incidents is quite ironic. Either way, Scaife is expected to be active against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday—so this matter will blow over in no time.
