Eagles Michael Vick-From MVP candidate to the bench?

By ericschmidt

ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio stated yesterday on ESPN’s national radio show that Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid could bench Michael Vick next week if he does not play well when the Philadelphia Eagles host the Green Bay Packers.

This reports comes with the explanation that Reid is unhappy with Vick’s inability to read defensive blitzes. If this is indeed the case, then how can Vick be considered for the MVP award? You do not bench a MVP candidate as your team enters the playoffs.

The Philadelphia Eagles are starting to look suddenly mortal. Weeks ago the Eagles looked as if they were the team to beat in the NFC, but the Minnesota Vikings exposed their weaknesses and beat them with a rookie quarterback making his first career start.

Philadelphia will now host the Green Bay Packers, a team which beat the Eagles in week one of the regular season and helped to usher in the season of Michael Vick when they knocked Kevin Kolb out of the game with a concussion.
