Minnesota Vikings announce the signing of head coach Leslie Frazier

The Minnesota Vikings have announced that they have reached an agreement with Leslie Frazier and he will become the eighth head coach in Vikings history. Frazier will address the media this afternoon at 5:15 EST and Vikings fans can watch his press conference on Vikings.com.

I think this is a wise move for the Vikings. Given the uncertainty surrounding the lack of a Collective Bargaining Agreement, there is a chance that there will be a very truncated offseason and free agency period, not to mention training camp. Frazier is already familiar with the core of the Vikings roster and the transition to Frazier as the head coach should be smoother than hiring someone off the street.

Frazier will have a seriously difficult job ahead. There are questions surrounding the quarterback position. There are looming free agents on the roster. RB Adrian Peterson is going to require a new contract soon.

There aren't too many quarterbacks who could make this play. Russell Wilson had to run 10-15 yards to recover the ball, then escape pressure and find a wide-open Tyler Lockett for the biggest play of the game. If the Seahawks win, this will be the turning point.
