49ers want to talk to Oakland Raiders coach
The San Francisco 49ers have asked permission to interview an Oakland Raiders coach. Specifically, Raiders offensive coordinator Hue Jackson. NFL teams this season will be targeting some of the top coordinator prospects instead of targeting high profile ex-coaches. Super Bowl winning coaches such as Bill Cowher and Jon Gruden will likely be asking for more money and power than teams might be willing to give up.
A little about Jackson, 45. He has spent time with several NFL teams. The Washington Redskins, Cincinnati Bengals, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens before joining the Raiders this season. His coaching career started in 2001. Before becoming the offensive coordinator for the Raiders, he held the same position with the Redskins and Falcons.
Jackson really improved the Raiders offense this season. In 2009, the Raiders finished the season with 4,256 total yards of offense and this season Oakland racked up 5,674 yards.
