This season, Michael Vick did everything for the Philadelphia Eagles.
He threw the ball efficiently, ran the ball like he always has, and even led a bundle of fourth quarter comebacks, including one that won’t be forgotten for some time.
So how’s this as a thought for 2011?
Michael Vick… Even better than 2010.
After all, Vick didn’t practice with the first team during training camp. He wasn’t expecting to be the starter. He didn’t have even close as much preparation as your average starting quarterback.
Yet he still threw for 21 touchdowns and just six picks, posted a triple-digit passer rating, and led the Eagles to the NFC East division title.
Vick had some comments about next season:
“I think going through a whole training camp and just being here, being with Andy, he knows a lot of things that I need to work on, that’ll make me a lot better as a quarterback. It’ll pay huge dividends for me, so I’ll be excited about that. I’ll follow the same routine I had last year, keep the same attitude and the same work ethic. The sky’s the limit, and I know that. I just know how hard I’ve got to work. I know what I can accomplish. I know things that I didn’t do so well this year that I’m going to practice this entire offseason on. So, I’m very thankful for the opportunity. I’m very thankful to be here.”
Vick isn’t even guarantee to be an Eagle next season, but realistically, we all know he’ll be back.
I can’t wait to see how he plays with tons of time to practice as the starter and not the backup.
