Michael Lombardi: Philadelphia Eagles Will Not Get Former Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher As Their Defensive Coordinator

By Bryn Swartz

According to Michael Lombardi, the Eagles Insider reports that Jeff Fisher “will not” be a defensive coordinator for any team next year.

The former 17-year head coach of the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Oilers/Tennessee Titans, Fisher was let go by the team today.

I don’t know if it was technically a firing. Adam Schefter reports that the Titans were not planning to ask Fisher for an extension and he wasn’t planning on asking for one anyway.

Fisher was the only head coach the Tennessee Titans have ever known.

The Eagles still need to obtain a defensive coordinator for the 2011 season.

I predict that they will be getting one of the coaches from the Green Bay Packers or the Pittsburgh Steelers, meaning the Eagles will not be able to interview with these guys for at least one and a half more weeks (until after the Super Bowl is played).
