Minnesota Vikings 2011 Draft Needs

By Chris Ransom

Quarterback Minnesota really needs to find a quarterback for the long run. Whether it is a quarterback in free agency or by the draft the Vikings need to find a new signal caller.

Cornerback Minnesota needs a true #1 cornerback. Cedric Griffin is too injury prone plus 2009 draft pick Asher Allen and 2010 2nd round pick Chris Cook are both #2 corners at best. Minnesota should draft a #1 corner like Peterson, Amukamara, or Jimmy Smith if they cannot draft a quarterback.

Defensive Tackle Minnesota will not retain Pat Williams meaning they need to draft a new young defensive tackle.

Free Safety Minnesota will need a free safety to replace Madieu Williams. Deunta Williams will be an option in round 2.

Left End Minnesota can get a left end in the later rounds to compete with Everson Griffin for the starting left end job.

Slot Receiver Minnesota needs to get a slot receiver in case they fail to retain Sidney Rice.
