Drew Brees falls to Adrian Peterson in Madden cover contest
In the competition for the honor of gracing the cover of the 2011 edition of the Madden video game, Saints quarterback navigated out of some tough matchups, much like he does in the NFL. He took down Josh Freeman and Mark Sanchez, two young gun quarterbacks who look to be good quarterbacks for the considerable future. However, the elite eight was as far as he got in the competition as he fell to Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
It was a good run for Brees, who was featured on the cover of last year’s Madden video game. The final four players left to be on the cover are Peterson, Packers Quarterback Aaron Rogers, Browns running back Peyton Hillis and Eagles Quarterback Michael Vick.
If anything, Saints fans should be relived that Brees will not be facing the Madden curse for the second straight year. In 2010, the Saints’ signal-caller threw a career-high number of interceptions and suffered an MCL strain that may or may not have had a deciding impact in two of the team’s early losses.
