2011 NFL Draft Round 1 Preview: Miami Dolphins
With all of the struggles last season, it’s difficult to believe the Miami Dolphins still managed to finish 7-9 last season. They’re expected to part ways with Ronnie Brown or Ricky Williams (or both) at some point this offseason and many believe the Dolphins could end up selecting a running back like Mark Ingram with the No. 15 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
However, it should be noted that Miami has already indicated their plans to make a strong run at Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams–so they’re expected to focus on the offensive line in the first round of this year’s draft. After his brother’s success as a rookie with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010, numerous teams have their eye on Florida center Mike Pouncey and he would be a great boost for a Dolphins’ line that already has Jake Long.
